About Us

Aboriginal Community Elders Coral King, Theresa Connors and Kim Peters were the original founders of the organisation. Deanne Booth has taken the leadership and assumed chair-person role with the organisation and Pastor Priestley Obed is our CEO.

Deanne is well known in the community for her achievements especially for netball carnivals. Pastor Priestley is a senior pastor of Gilmore church- an Aboriginal focussed Church in tuggeranong. Pastor Priestley is renowned for his chaplaincy work among the prisoners. Margaret Blackman has assumed the role of CFO.

Yeddung Mura is a great believer in the restorative process and all its programs are designed with a clear focus on four key areas, as mentioned in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander whole of government Agreement:

  1. Construction of Identity
  2. Build Strong Family Connections
  3. Link up Community Connections
  4. Social Inclusion

Yeddung Mura has the full support of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body and United Ngunnawal Elders Council.

The wise counsel of Elected body members, and other community members, are consulted on a regular basis on development and  delivery of Yeddung Mura’s services
